• The European Refugee Crisis in Calais, France

Sometimes things don’t go your way. “When holidays turn into nightmares”… this does not necessarily has to have something to do with a bad hotel or bad service. Private circumstances can lead to vacations without fun, too. When my journey to the Elvis festival in Blackpool, England in July started, I did not want to go at all. But in the end I let myself be persuaded to go and thought everything would be fine at my destination… It wouldn’t! Not at all… That is how it happened I found myself not only at the Eurotunnel for the first time of my life, but also in the center of the European refugee crisis in Calais.

  • Things to do in London: Madame Tussauds London

This month, Madame Tussauds welcomed me to their wax figure cabinet in London. I spent about 90 minutes at the location near Baker Street Station, where I had been to before, at a very young age. I got free admission as I had planned to cover the London attraction on my blog. However, my article displays my own opinion on my visit. So how was it to again (3rd visit in total at Madame Tussauds) spend some time between wax figures and in a horror maze?

  • First Impressions of London, Great Britain

I spent the first days of September in London, England. This trip was a gift for someone who has never been there before. That’s why – for the first time in years – I saw some of the touristy spots again. Usually I try to avoid such places. However, I’ve had an awesome time with a lot of walking, and a lot of attractions. Here are some first impressions of the city trip…

  • Elvis in Vegas Tribute Concert Featuring the Terry Mike Jeffrey Band

On August 14 the Terry Mike Jeffrey Band performed on the Main Stage at Graceland during Elvis Week 2015. The event was called “Elvis in Vegas Tribute Concert featuring the Terry Mike Jeffrey Band”, and the audience was also able to enjoy Elvis imagery and videos on the big screen. We’ve had a full house with lots of standing ovations – both for the band, and for Elvis in his videos.

  • The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Finals During Elvis Week 2015

On August 13, 2015 the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Finals took place at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Memphis, Tennessee. Each year since 2007, the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion is crowned. During the finals ten Tribute Artists compete against each other. However, they are not compared against each other but against Elvis Presley. Vocals (40 percent), style, stage wear, and stage presence (each 20 percent) are the criteria counting in order to find the one person, who represents Elvis best.

  • Elvis Tribute Artist Dean Z Performs as Buddy Holly During Elvis Week 2015

In 2013 Dean Z won the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis, Tennessee and ever since he performs as Elvis all over the world. Besides that Dean Z does not only perform with his own bands “The Kraken” and “The Gimps”, but is also able to both look and sound like Buddy Holly! He does that so good, that I did not even recognize him, when I ran into him before the concert – even though I interviewed him in July in England
