• First Impressions of the untraditional Camino de Santiago trail from Spain to Portugal

It’s done! I’m back from Porto now, after having hiked there all the way from Santiago. Well, there had been a few interruptions by car, metro and bus but they’re not worth mentioning. Before I will inform you here about general tips the costs and the route, here are first of all some impressions from my time on the not-so-traditional Camino de Santiago.

  • Chips on a Stick at Hot Dog Cold Beer in Budapest

I had discovered “Hot Dog Cold Beer” before my short trip to Budapest in autumn 2015. That small fast food restaurant serves first and foremost – as its name kind of gives away – hot dogs and beer, of course. But they do also offer some other creative fancy snacks like chips on a stick for example. Actually I am not that much into chips but I found that thing special enough to give it a try…

  • Snakes in the Sunshine State Florida

Before I had moved to Florida I have been collecting information about that state since my childhood. The thing with the snakes had always been the most impressive part – especially with snakes which make their way into peoples’ apartments through canalization. That’s truly hat nightmares are made of! Well, not everything in Florida is sunshine, palm trees, turquoise water and beach, of course. One has to admit there’re also many not-so-paradise-like things: namely snakes, bears, pumas, a partly very high crime rate and yes, even human trafficking.

  • Insider Tip London: The Emirates Air Line

You wouldn’t meet a lot of tourists if you went and bought a ticket for the Emirates Air Line, which opened in 2012. Far off the touristic ho-hum-sports of London City there is this neat ropeway near the ExCel arena. Not many people find their way here outside the fair times. Ho bad for all of those who miss this wonderful part of London. Good for me as I do not like crowded places…
