• The Walking Dead Filming Locations: Rick Rides the Horse into Atlanta – DVD Cover for Season 1

Being a great fan of filming locations I visited – apart from my The Walking Dead filming location tour south of Atlanta – some locations in the center of Atlanta, Georgia. Among them was the season 1 DVD cover location of this popular TV-series. Season 1 shows us how Rick Grimes is riding to Atlanta on horseback. So where is this place, which is not only a fantastic viewpoint to the Downtown skyline but also a true insider tip?

  • Hotel Rooms with Glass Bathrooms: about the Idiocy of Hotel Managers…

It’s been a long day… Every journey to any vacations destination – sometimes short, sometimes long – turns out to be somewhat exhausting. At least for all the packing and organisation, that needs to be done in the run-up. But then finally you arrive at your hotel, you do the check-in; you can’t wait to see your room. You open the door and all is stylish, and neat, and looks so good. Awesome! But then… The bathroom is made of glass! This is about how a nice hotel room can still turn out into a nightmare and what hotel managers really should think about concerning their visions of a vitreous guest.

  • The European Refugee Crisis in Calais, France

Sometimes things don’t go your way. “When holidays turn into nightmares”… this does not necessarily has to have something to do with a bad hotel or bad service. Private circumstances can lead to vacations without fun, too. When my journey to the Elvis festival in Blackpool, England in July started, I did not want to go at all. But in the end I let myself be persuaded to go and thought everything would be fine at my destination… It wouldn’t! Not at all… That is how it happened I found myself not only at the Eurotunnel for the first time of my life, but also in the center of the European refugee crisis in Calais.

  • Things to do in London: Madame Tussauds London

This month, Madame Tussauds welcomed me to their wax figure cabinet in London. I spent about 90 minutes at the location near Baker Street Station, where I had been to before, at a very young age. I got free admission as I had planned to cover the London attraction on my blog. However, my article displays my own opinion on my visit. So how was it to again (3rd visit in total at Madame Tussauds) spend some time between wax figures and in a horror maze?

  • My Top 20 Hotels in Recent Years

I am a huge fan of (nice) hotels. Hotel rooms give me a feeling of “coming home” – crazy, right? Sometimes I feel a little bit like George Clooney in “Up in the Air”. His character Ryan Bingham is almost always on the road. He flies back and forth across the US and dismisses employees of other companies. Bingham wants to collect ten million frequent flyer miles and says the following sentence:

“Last year I spent 322 days on the road, which means I had to spend 43 miserable days at home.”

Well, it’s not quite that bad for me to not stay at hotels, but a year with only a few hotel stays propably won’t be my favorite year. Find here the top 20 hotels that have made a particularly positive impression on me in recent years.
