Cody Ray Slaughter, Dean Z, and Shawn Klush at the Elvis Week 2015 Concert in Memphis

It was the first concert evening during Elvis Week 2015 and these three guys totally nailed it: Cody Ray Slaughter, Dean Z and Shawn Klush! More than 500 Elvis fans from all over the world came together at the New Daisy Theater in famous Beale Street, Downtown Memphis, to celebrate Elvis Presley, his music, and of course to see the three Elvis Tribute Artist Champions live on stage!

Cody Ray Slaughter represented Elvis in his young years. He rocked the stage first in his black suit and later in his blue jacket combined with black pants, and looked just like the young Elvis. The fans were totally entertained by both his performance as Elvis, and his jokes. Cody Slaughter – as always – seemed like having a lot of fun on stage.

His performance was followed by Dean Z, who invited the audience on a trip to 1968 – of course, it was the ’68 Comeback Special. Dean looked just like Elvis in his black leather suit. During a fantastic jam session he let the audience pick songs, like „Just Pretend“. During one song, he even left the stage and joined the audience, walking all the way back to the end of the concert hall. Watching him felt just like watching the Comeback Special DVD. Dean got both chocolate and flowers, and of course there were standing ovations.

As everyone already felt totally thrown back in time, Shawn Klush appeared on stage, wearing a white jumpsuit, like Elvis did during the Aloha from Hawaii concert. Klush of course performed as Elvis in the early ’70s and there were lots of standing ovations during the concert. He definitely has both the looks, and the voice, and the audience was more than entertained by his performance.

As the audience seemed to be very excited in the beginning, they all looked very happy in the end. Everyone looked very happy, because three young men did an outstanding job, bringing Elvis back to stage for one evening! The show was amazing, and I look forward to going to the next concert today, starring Dean Z, Jay Dupuis, and Ben Portsmouth! If you’re in the Memphis area, come and join us for more celebrations and concert during Elvis Week! If you do, please note: there was like no AC running at the New Daisy Theater yesterday, so it got pretty hot …

Best wishes,
Claire
